Help Devin Get a Guide Dog!

Welcome

Meet Devin! Devin is 8 years old and is patiently awaiting his first guide dog....but he needs your help to do it! Lodestar rescues dogs from shelters and then trains them to be guide dogs for children who are blind and visually impaired. Lodestar will be looking for a dog for Devin in January and it will cost Lodestar $12,100 to train his guide dog through the program. It is through the generosity of donors like you, that we are able to provide this service FREE OF CHARGE to families. There are many ways to donate! You can donate online by going to our home page and clicking the donate button or you can mail a donation to us at Box 1797, Findlay, OH 45839. You can make a one time donation or you can visit our "Paw"tner Program page to learn how you can sponsor Devin monthly and join him on his journey to increased independence and confidence.

Meet Karma! Karma is a small 40 pound black lab that was rescued from All Species Adoption Program Dog Rescue (www.asaprescue.org). The ASAP rescued Karma from the local pound. Not much is known about her previous life. She didn't even come with a name. The ASAP was calling her "Annie". So where did the name Karma come from? When I went out looking for a dog this time around, I already had a little boy in mind that I was searching specifically for. His name is Devin. When I was talking with Devin he said he always wanted a dog named Karma. I went up to Upper Sandusky one Saturday and had three dogs I was going to assess for the program. Karma was the first dog I assessed and within about 20-30 minutes I knew she was the one. She was the first and last dog I looked at that day and the rest is history. Welcome to the Lodestar family Karma!
